Matthew D. Goddard, 18, Appleton, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born April 23, 1990, in Green Bay, to Richard and Kimberly (Butt) Goddard. Matt attended the Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School and Preble High School, where he was the Student of the Month twice. He finished his senior year at Kaukauna High School, graduating in 2008.
In March of this year, he started working at Bergstrom GM of Neenah, as a detailer. Matt was looking forward to attending school to further his interests in the automotive trade. He enjoyed playing baseball and soccer with his friends and football for the Play-It-Again team. He also enjoyed music and spending time with all of his friends and family.
Matthew made a positive impression on a lot of people and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Richard and Kimberly Goddard; one brother, Mike Goddard; paternal grandparents, James and Cynthia Goddard; two uncles, Jay Goddard and Todd (Tammy) Goddard; two aunts, Linda (Joe) Thyrion and Cindy (Rob) Campbell; cousins, relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ron and Anna Butt; great-grandmother, June (Cayo) Chapman; one uncle, Larry; and one aunt, Anna.
Friends may call at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1414 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Delmar Austin officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Garden.
