Mary Ann Warpinski, 84, of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, was received into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, shortly after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

Mary Ann was born Mary Ann Katers on April 5, 1936, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of John Katers and Harriet (Watermolen) Katers. The youngest of 11 children, Mary Ann spent her childhood on her family farm in Green Bay. After graduation from West High School, she received her RN at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, where she trained at the Mayo Clinic. Mary Ann later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and married Dr. Marion Warpinski. In Las Vegas, Mary Ann worked briefly as an operating room nurse before taking time off to raise her family. She was a loving mother to her two daughters and her 13 stepchildren. She eventually became a real estate agent and broker in Las Vegas, an occupation she enjoyed until 2004, when a cerebral hemorrhage brought that chapter of her life to a close. Mary Ann lived the last 16 years of her life near her daughters.

Mary Ann had an adventurous spirit, as well as a strong will that helped her overcome significant challenges. As a devout Catholic, she relied on her faith during these times. She survived polio as a young girl, with a determination that continued the rest of her life. She had a generous and care-giving personality that brought her to help others in need. She enjoyed travelling. A lucky video poker player, Mary Ann got a surprising number of Royal Flushes over the years. She also loved taking her walk each morning in her Las Vegas neighborhood. In the last chapter of her life, Mary Ann's spirit shone through in the positive attitude she showed to those who walked through her door. The day before she died, when asked how she was doing, she said, "Wonderful," her last word in this life.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her 10 siblings; her husband, Marion; and her stepdaughter, Mary Barbara Everett.

She is survived by her children, Cecilia Stuopis and Anastasia Warpinski; and her stepchildren, Kathy Warpinski, Mark Warpinski, Joseph Warpinski, James Warpinski, John Warpinski, Jane Ronsman, Nancy Schultz, Margaret DeBruine, Amy Warpinski, Lora Anderson, Luke Warpinski and Lucy Bunker, and their families; along with nieces and nephews.

Family members will gather to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in the coming days at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Green Bay. The in-person Mass is limited to immediate family but will be livestreamed so that all may share in this important milestone in Mary Ann's life. Mass attendees are asked to wear masks and follow all social distancing guidelines. You may view the livestream of the Mass starting at 11 a.m. Monday on this link: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=st+agnes+green+bay
