Mary (Fulwiler) Holubar, 79, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026 with her beloved family by her side.

Mary was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1946 and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1965. She married George Holubar, another Green Bay native, in 1968 and they happily spent their lives in the city she loved.

Family was the central focus of her life and her greatest source of joy. She showed her love for her three children in big and small ways, from leaving little notes in their lunches to supporting each of their individual interests, however short-lived. She simply wanted the very best for her kids and was immensely proud of each of them.

Although she loved being a mom, she relished her role as Gammy to her seven grandchildren. She had a rare gift for making each of them feel like they were her one and only favorite and that everything they did was special. She stocked her pantry with treats they could get nowhere else and loved playing in John Muir Park or FaceTiming with her grandchildren for hours on end.

Mary loved to laugh and loved a good story. She enjoyed walking through her Shannon Street neighborhood, decorating for every holiday, making a big deal out of Christmas, and a little retail therapy whenever the opportunity arose. She was a classic home cook with trademark dishes that were full of love (and a little extra butter.) Her lasagna, mac and cheese, and taco dip were family favorites, made to be shared - and never lasted long.

Mary treasured her neighbors and close friends, and she had many. She loved being around people and was always ready to have fun, bringing her warm smile to card games, evenings around a campfire, or gatherings with her beloved dinner group. Mary had a big heart and a special instinct for noticing when someone needed a little extra care or kindness. She was generous with her time and created a sense of belonging for those who needed it most. She wanted everyone to feel included and cared for, no matter their circumstances, and she brought joy to every occasion.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, George; her children and their partners, Marisa Holubar and Christopher Murphy (San Mateo, CA), Ashley and Chad Heath (Green Bay, WI), and Seth and Briana Holubar (Green Bay, WI); her seven grandchildren, Eleana Anderson and Grayson Heath, Zoe, Rowen, and Willa Holubar, Adeleigh and Maxwell Murphy; her brother, Doug; and many friends who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mert.

In accordance with her wishes, her family will not hold a funeral service. Instead, we will celebrate and honor her life every day. She will be deeply missed.
