Mary E. Capelle, "MeMe", 66 of De Pere, Wisconsin passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Mary was born on December 28, 1957 to Sally Katzbahn (Hearden) and Gaylord Katzbahn. She attended Preble High School and NWTC; and worked for over 25 years at Lord's Dental Studio as a lab technician.
Mary wed the love of her life, Duane Paul "Dewey" Capelle on April 17, 1999. She was a proud and devoted mother to her three children, Jason, Benjamin, and Amber. She loved being wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. All would describe her as an endless and generous vessel of love calling everyone "sweetheart", "honey", or "darling". Mary had a gentle nature that given the right circumstance and the company of good friends, could turn any gathering to a bit of a party. She was genuinely kind with words and in manner which quickly transformed stranger to friend. She exuded positivity and enjoyed the company of like-spirited people.
Mary was a woman of great faith which strengthened her during dark times and guided her at all times. She was always open to a good adventure and could turn a simple trip to the local diner, craft fair, antique store or road-trip into such an adventure. She enjoyed completing puzzles, board games, playing dice and card games for the sheer camaraderie; and she loved her forever growing "eagle" collection. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mary had a style all her own. She was known for donning the most appropriate scarf and bedazzled hat and jewelry to match her mood and compliment her brightly colored outfit and brilliant smile. Mary wore life like a loose garment; lighting up every room she entered.
Mary is survived by her beloved children, Benjamin (Jamie) Blahnik, Amber (Rudi) Gevers; grandchildren: Marissa, Morgan (Jay), Justyce, Brayden, Ty, Justin, Jacob, Jenna, Chloe, Skylar, Brady, Kalissa, Brice, Brevin, Blake, McCoy, Ava, Casey; great-grand-children; siblings: Tanya (Walter) Brooks, Fawn (Phil) Katzbahn, Theresa (Masanao) Takahashi; Gaylord Katzbahn; nieces and nephews: Crystal, Gabrielle, Shannon, Anthony, Michael, Dre, Robbie; sisters of the heart: DiAnn and Roxi; and countless cousins, relatives, and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Sally and Gaylord Katzbahn; beloved son, Jason Blahnik; husband, Dewey; and sister, Bonnie Vannieuwenhoven.
