Marvin "Marv" Joseph Waeghe, 93, Suamico, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
Marv, the son of Leo and Mary (Jardis) Waeghe, was born on October 1, 1930 in Gladstone, MI. He was raised in Gladstone and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1949. He married Patricia Ann LeClaire at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone on July 21, 1956 and together they started their family in Berwyn, Ill.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was proud to have served in the Korean War. Marv was the owner and operator of Marway Builders for over 50 years. Marv volunteered for the Emergency Rescue Squad for 10 years and was a multi gallon blood donor for the Red Cross. He established ABC Preschool and Daycares in the Village of Howard. Marv loved to garden and enjoyed canning. After his retirement, Marv and Patt spent winters in their Florida home enjoying fishing and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patt; children, Suzanne (Ken) Kimps, Mary Beth (Bryan) Boettcher, Mark (Lisa) Waeghe, Kris (Dan) Miller, Patrick (Kelly) Waeghe; grandchildren, Sarah (Craig) Lasecki, Troy (Jessica) Kimps, Joshua (Holly) Kimps, Brooke (fiancé, Ryan Julka) Boettcher, Dr. Brent (Melissa) Boettcher, Dr. Brennan (Kaitlyn) Boettcher, Adam (Amanda) Waeghe, Carsen Miller, Lauren (fiancé, Aiden Smith) Miller, Rhiannah Johnson; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Karen) Waeghe, Maryann (Mark) Meunier; sister-in-law, Joanne Waeghe.
Marv was preceded in death by his son, Michael; parents, Leo and Mary; brothers, Leo Jr. (Geri), James; sister, Dorothy (Thomas) Srock.
Friends and family will gather at SS. Edward & Isidore Parish, 3667 Flintville Rd., from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Marv may be made to benefit Unity Hospice.
