Marvel Utech, 94, Green Bay, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born April 11, 1930, in Oconto, to Otto Utech and Amanda Ristow.
Marv was a proud Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. He married Carol Carriveau on April 7, 1956. Marv was a longtime employee at Wisconsin Public Service where he worked as a meter reader. He loved his job which involved walking up to 15 miles every day.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. For much of his life he made annual trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness. He was a talented self-taught musician, playing lead guitar in several professional bands, and enjoyed jamming with family and friends. He was an avid woodworker and supplied local businesses and friends with bird feeders and other wood crafts.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Vicky (Dave) Buchanan, Brian (Carol) Utech, Lynn (Jeff) Strouf, Bruce (Kathryn Frost) Utech, Matthew Utech, Heidi Utech; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Clarence) Zweifel, Sharon (Bill) Evers; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Marv was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy; parents, Otto and Amanda; brothers, Gary, Orville (Marie).
