Martin E. “Marty” Vernosh, age 66 of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Marty was born on April 8, 1960 to Dolores (Hendricks) Vernosh and the late Darrel Vernosh.

Marty graduated from Green Bay East High School with the Class of 1978. On August 27, 1994, he married Mary Meunier at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Marty had been employed at Georgia Pacific for 42 years until his retirement in May 2022. He was a hunter and an avid fisherman and recently enjoyed a fishing trip to Canada. Marty was also an awesome cook and baker. His specialties were steaks, booyah, beef jerky, carrot cake and apple crisp. Marty was also a very talented wildlife artist. He had a very big heart. Marty was a jokester with a contagious laugh. He was a very loving and generous person and would always lend a helping hand. Marty was loved so much and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Elise (Rob) Holzberger, Elena Vernosh; his mother, Dolores Vernosh; two brothers and their wives, Thomas and Cindy Vernosh, Gerald and Cynthia Vernosh; two sisters, Mary Beth and Michael Flaig, Sara Vernosh and her friend Mike Sturm; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Al Taicher, Randall and Jan Meunier, Susan Johnson, Gerard and Deborah Meunier, Debra Fischer; grandchildren, William Gorski, Jacob Gorski and Eleanor Holzberger; nieces and nephews, many relatives, and friends; as well as Marty’s best friend, Jim Kluth whom he enjoyed discussing their many fishing stories and adventures.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrel Vernosh; sister, Suzanne Ploor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Mary Alice Meunier; brother-in-law, John Johnson.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, April 28 with a Parish Wake to follow at 7pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday, April 29 at St. Joseph Parish, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., from 9:30am to 11am; Mass of Resurrection to follow at 11am.
