Mitzie Iken, 92, of Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023. She was born on October 9, 1930, in Galesburg, Illinois to James and Ruth (Clayberg) Donaldson.

Mitzie graduated from Knoxville High School in 1948 and went on to earn a degree in business from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS.

On January 25, 1954, Mitzie married the love of her life George Iken and together they had three children. While raising her family she also enjoyed working in the insurance industry and volunteered with Meals on Wheels to help those in need.

Mitzie was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1962 where she sang in the choir. She was also a backup organist at Trinity and loved playing piano for weekly church services at Woodside Lutheran Home.

The best thing about Packer games to Mitzie and George was living a couple blocks from Lambeau Field where they could welcome, feed and entertain family, friends and sometimes complete strangers during home games.

Mitzie is survived by her daughter, Mary (Chris) Groh of Eau Claire, her son, Robert (Mary) Iken of Green Bay; her daughter-in-law, Karen Iken of Green Bay; granddaughters, Maggie of Milwaukee, Jayne of Beaverton, OR; a niece Jan (Doug) Belles of Mattoon, IL; and other in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; a son Charles; her parents Ruth and James; a brother Charles Donaldson; a nephew Jim Donaldson; a sister-in-law Marilyn Donaldson; and a brother-in-law David Iken.

A memorial visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway, Green Bay, on Friday, March 3, from 10-11:00 a.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Rachel Knoke. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
