Mark C. Seidl, 76, Green Bay, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023 with his family by his side.  He was born March 15, 1947 in Green Bay to Charles "Fritz" and Margaret (Rueckl) Seidl.

Mark was a 1965 graduate of Premontre High School where he met his lifelong friends Mark DeBaker, Jim Schultze, and Mick Kane.  After his service in the United States Army, he attended UW-Green Bay and graduated with a degree in human biology.  Mark was employed with Kewaunee County Human Services from 1974 until his retirement in 2012.  During this time, he was appointed to the Governor's Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and worked to improve access to behavioral health services with the Wisconsin County Human Services Association (WCHSA).  In recognition of his exemplary services and contributions, he was awarded the Outstanding Public Service Award by WCHSA in 2002.

On July 13, 1985, Mark married Mary Jo Ackerman and they joined their families together.  Mark was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands.  He completely remodeled his two family homes from the studs up.  He was always available to help each of his children and any friends with all their home projects.  In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing with his friends, especially Mark DeBaker on the Bay of Green Bay.  In his later years his trusty canine companion Daisy was always by his side.  Mark's quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by many.

Mark will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Jo; his children, Marc (Annette) Seidl, Kim Seidl, Chris Halfmann, Sara Halfmann (Jason Haack); his granddaughter, Ella; two sisters, Margie (Gene) Audette, Marilyn Lucas; siblings-in-law, Sylvia Ackerman, Bob (Barb) Ackerman, Terry (Linda) Ackerman, Jean Schriever; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Margaret; parents-in-law, Leo and Calista Ackerman; brothers-in-law, Jay Lucas, Tom Ackerman, and Rick Schriever.

A Celebration and Sharing of Memories will be at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 14.  To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
