Marjorie Gwendolyn (Yoder) Katzenmaier, 86, formerly of Suamico. was called home to the Lord Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Woodside Assisted Living, Green Bay. WI. She was born February, 4, 1940 in Midland, MI, the 7th of Henry and Velma (Miller) Yoder’s 9 children.
Marge graduated from Midland High School in 1958, then went on to study at Grace Bible institute in Omaha, Nebraska. She next moved to Milwaukee, enrolled in Milwaukee Career Academy and in 1964 earned her Medical Assistant certificate. While in Milwaukee, she met Martin Katzenmaier and the two were married on April 5, 1969. Marge applied her medical and office skills in clinics and physician’s offices until 1974, when Marty’s job was transferred to Green Bay. With the move, Marge began a long career working in the offices of insurance agents. The couple enjoyed their home in Suamico, travel, outdoor activities, their dogs Shannon and Casey, and time with friends and family. Marge loved Bible study, gardening, cooking, crafts, sewing, painting, and giving of her time and talents. Her husband suffered a disabling heart attack in 1978 and received a heart transplant in 1990. Marge was a loving and patient spouse who devoted herself to his care until his death in 2003. In later years her focus turned to her church community and fun times with “the girls”. Marge loved the Green Bay area and was determined to live out her days there, despite protest from family who wanted her near. She will be remembered most for her faith, kindness, genuine interest in others, and infectious smile.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband and parents, brothers Edward (Miriam), Richard (Barbara), Laurence, and Karl Yoder, sisters, Vera (Edgar) Wiebe and Kathryn (Emery) Crawford, and in-laws DeVere Roth, Kenneth Katzenmaier and Delores (Roy) Schoebel.
She is survived by her sister Juanita Roth of Eureka, Ill, brother Joe (Margo) Yoder of Groveland, Ill, sisters-in-law Doris Yoder of Midland, MI, Pauline Yoder of Peoria, Ill, Sharon Katzenmaier of Greenfield, WI, and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Marge wanted everyone to have the joy and peace that she had knowing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior since age 11. She enjoyed the beauty of God's creation and the blessings of each new day. She had no fear of death because she knew that she would be in Heaven with Jesus when she left her earthly body. It was her prayer that you would seek Jesus and the free gift of eternal life He is offering each of us.
A special thank you to the caring staff at Woodside Assisted Living where Marge said she was "blessed' to live the last four years of her life. Also thank you to the wonderful team from Heartland Hospice who provided extra care and support during her last four months.
