Marilyn Van Langendon, 93, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Esther and Melvin Waylan was born on March 2, 1930, in Salina, Kansas.

In 1950 Marilyn married Gilbert Schneweis and as they were preparing for the arrival of their daughter Debbie; Gilbert was diagnosed with brain cancer. He passed away three months after Debbie was born.

A train trip in 1952 from Salina, Kansas to Ft. McCoy, WI would change her life. Marilyn met John W. Van Langendon while he was stationed there, and they immediately fell in love. They were married July 27, 1952, in the chapel at Ft. McCoy. After John completed his military service, they returned to Green Bay and spent the next 66 years raising seven children, working hard, and growing the family business of Van's Florist and Greenhouse.

Marilyn was a three-time cancer survivor. Her strength and determination were examples to her family of just how strong and courageous she was. Marilyn's greatest joy and blessing was being a mother to her children. Marilyn always said, "My kids are my pride and joy." Marilyn had many wonderful gifts and talents and loved sharing them with family and friends. She had a beautiful singing voice and was a talented floral designer. She loved crocheting and cooking. Marilyn always made sure no one went hungry.

She is survived by her children, Debra Sherry, Melvin Van Langendon, Cathy (Jeff) Guttu, Nancy Hedge, Esther Weise, Frank (Annette) Van Langendon, Doris (Jim) Veeser; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn; sister-in-law, Patricia (Gene) Pezon; many nieces and nephews; dear friend, Patrick Stordeur.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilbert and John; her father, Melvin; mother and stepfather, Esther and Frank Egan; grandson, Jesse Van Langendon; daughter-in-law, Patty Van Langendon; sons-in-law, David Sherry, James Weise; brother, Melvin Waylan, sister, Phyllis Skeen; sisters-in-law, Emerald Conley, Marilyn (Bud) Johnson.
