M. June Paulson, 82, Green Bay, died Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006. She was born June 24, 1923, in Green Bay, to Jules J. and Margaret (Terry) Demeny. On Sept. 13, 1947, she married James Paulson at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. June was a very active member of the Green Bay Women's Bowling Association, received numerous awards and served on the board of directors for many years. She was currently a member emeritus. She was also very active at St. Joseph Parish and School and had served on the Parish School Board. She enjoyed playing bridge and was in many bridge clubs. June helped with many, many play performances at Catholic Central High School and later Premontre High School and assisted with the makeup for many of the school's musicals. Early in June's life, she had been employed by Standard Oil. After raising her children, she worked at Ponderosa Steak House for over 30 years.
Survivors include five children and their spouses, Cris and Dave Sprister, Sayner; Greg Paulson, Billings, Mont.; Ann and William F. Galvin, Green Bay; Phil and Kim Paulson, Suamico; Jim and Julie Paulson, De Pere; 11 grandchildren, Diana Perko, Cale Sprister, Dane Sprister, all of Colorado; Erin, Megan, Brittany and Molly Galvin, Kelsey and Kyle Paulson, Grace and Emma Paulson, all of the Green Bay area; four great-grandchildren, Reese, Joey, Owen and Kean. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Dorothy Oliver, Mike and Barb Demeny, Sue and John Paider, Nancy and Ronald "Bubsy" Vieaux, Dan and Mary Demeny; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lloyd Steeno, Bob Dymond, Flo Demeny, Skip Overdier, Margaret Paulson and Bill Paulson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, on Aug. 2, 1995; her sisters and brothers, Bernadine Steeno, Peggy Dymond, Jack Demeny, Terry Demeny, Dave Demeny, Richard Demeny, Kitty Overdier; two infant brothers, Larry and James; two brothers-in-law, Jerome Paulson and "Nig" Oliver; and a sister-in-law, Judy Demeny.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of Ninth Street and 12th Avenue, from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the church with the Msgr. James Dillenburg officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
