On December 28th, 2023, Lynda Hanaway passed peacefully into God's arms at her home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was surrounded by family who loved her dearly.
Lyn was born in South Orange, New Jersey on November 30, 1945, to Dr Wallace II and Mary MacMullen. She brought immediate joy and laughter to them. After living in New Jersey, New Mexico and Illinois, the family settled in Green Bay. While attending and graduating from St. Joseph's Academy, Lyn enjoyed participating in many of the Dudley Birder led musical productions. Her most fondly recalled role was playing Anita in West Side Story. She also spoke with joy about her experiences with her time spent with the singing Madrigals. Lyn then went on to pursue a degree in teaching while attending St. Norbert College and the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Lyn was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was on the homecoming court at St Nobert and was Queen of the Navy Ball in Madison.
Lyn was the very proud mother of her children, Chris and Kelly, with her first husband Lt. Col Daniel Robinson. Being a mother was the most important part of Lyn's life, a role that gave her much joy. When the kids were young, she met, and married David Hanaway. They had a wonderful life together, enjoying vacations to Destin and later a home in Fish Creek.
Lyn was beautiful, funny, smart, loving, and generous. She loved interior design and her homes reflected that.
She could always lift your spirits with her beautiful smile or a surprise gift. If you were lucky, her delicious brownies or Scotcharoos would show up without notice. How we all loved that! She will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to know her.
She is survived by her children Christoper Hanaway, and Kelly (Dave) Bieda, her mother, Mary R MacMullen, siblings Wallace (Mitzi) MacMullen III, Anita MacMullen, Susan (Chris) Jensen and sister-in-law Pamela MacMullen. Also, her beloved grandchildren, Sam Hanaway, Elizabeth, Merrick, and Penelope Bieda. Along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Lyn was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Wallace MacMullen II, her brother, John Russell MacMullen and her husband David Hanaway.
