It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Louise "Weezie" Salscheider, 82, on Monday, April 29th, 2024 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, who died peacefully in her home surrounded by close family. She was born a twin on September 17th, 1941 in Green Bay, WI to Leo and Elizabeth "Sally" Hermes.
Louise met the love of her life Patrick Salscheider at a friend's wedding and were wed September 29th, 1962. He preceded her in death on February 27th, 1978. She dedicated the years without him to raising her children.
She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and worked as a nurse's aide at St. Vincent's Hospital for many years. In her early years, Louise enjoyed going up north to friends' cottages with the RV, snowmobiling and going to Yellowstone with her late husband, Pat and many friends. She dedicated her life to helping others through charitable donations, sponsoring softball teams with her infamous Weezies Lounge logo, volunteering in her community, offering support to everyone, and spoiling her grandchildren. Not only was she witty, kind, and selfless, she always had an uncanny ability to make people laugh through her countless jokes and banter. She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida with her daughter Amy and her family, reading, dancing, boating, playing card games, shopping, cleaning, and trying on hats. You would often see her walking the streets of Howard. Her home was her sanctuary where the gatherings were always filled with joy and laughter, and she wouldn't miss a Packer or Badger game.
Louise is survived by her sons, Craig Salscheider (Paula Wojcik); James "Boone" Salscheider (Rena McCole); daughter, Amy (Jamie) Belisle; grandchildren, Katie Salscheider, Karli Salscheider, Keri (Brandon) Kempf, Patrick Salscheider (Ariel Sandoval), Max Salscheider (Alma Robles), Chase Belisle (Liz Shuman), Hope Belisle (Daniel Donofrio); great-grandchild, Django Doucette; siblings, Chuck (Barb) Hermes, Lee (Glory) Hermes, Lenore (Loren) Olejniczak, Mick Hermes, Danny (Cheryl) Hermes, Betsy (Tom) Frericks, Steve (Sandy) Hermes, Donny (Terry) Hermes; sister-in-laws, Kathy Hermes and Rose Hermes, as well as neices, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved late husband, Pat, her parents, her brothers, Robert Hermes and her twin Lawrence Hermes, sister-in-law Connie Hermes, nephews Joe Hermes, Michael Hermes and John Salscheider, father- and mother-in-law, John and Serena Salscheider, brother-in-law Mike Salscheider, brothers- and sisters-in-law Lenny and Mary Meyer and Jim and Sally Basteyns, as well as beloved neighbors and friends.
Family and friends may pay their respects and memorialize Louise in a Celebration of Life on Friday, June 14th, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Townline on Lineville in Green Bay, WI. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
