Lois Ann (Janssen) Kuske, 92, a lifelong Green Bay resident, peacefully gained her angel wings on August 5, 2024, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Lois was born on September 15, 1931, to Charles and Gladys (Papenfus) Janssen. She attended Cathedral Catholic Grade School. On October 4, 1952, Lois married the love of her life, Wilbert "Whitey" Kuske, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Together they built a life they loved for over 69 years.

Lois said, "I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up; all I knew was that I wanted to be a mom." And she was the most wonderful, devoted mom to her 8 children and the most loving grandmother to her 17 grandchildren. Lois' family was her world, and she spent her entire life making them feel loved beyond measure.

When she wasn't with her family, Lois spent her time working and volunteering in various roles that allowed her to do what she did best – taking care of others. Whitey and Lois also enjoyed spending time with friends, especially during their 17 winters in Arizona. You could often find Lois in her kitchen, sipping a cup of coffee, and whipping up the most delicious dishes and desserts. She was also a talented seamstress, and she used her skills to make everything from intricate quilts to her own beautiful clothing. Lois was also the family historian, and she enjoyed sharing stories from the many generations before her.

To know Lois was to know love. Her gentle smile and kind heart will be dearly missed but will live on in all of those lucky enough to know her. She is survived by her eight children: Jean (John) Sarosiek, Mary Kay (Dennis) Schroeder, Sue (Paul) Van Sistine, Julie (Tim) Philipps, James (Mary Sue) Kuske, Janet (Paul) Babler, Paul (Paula) Kuske, and Steve (Marci) Kuske. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren: Ted Sarosiek, Kathy Tennant, Terri Sarosiek, Matt Van Sistine, Andy Van Sistine, Joe Van Sistine, Megan Rossler, Hannah Bruesch, Mike Philipps, Jamie Kuske, Stephen Kuske, Josh Babler, Jake Babler, Taylor Kuske, Morgan Wied, Sara Kuske, and Emily Kuske; as well as 20 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Joyce Meier, Ann (Dennis) Budzban, and Joe (Elaine) Janssen; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kamps, Carol (Bruce) Anderson; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitey; her parents; her sister, Rita (Mike) Laundrie. Her mother and father-in-law Lawrence and Philipine Kuske. sister-in-law and brothers-in-laws June (Wally) Charles, Melvin (Carol) Kuske, Bill Kamps, Jerry Pfeffer, and Gene Meier. Nieces, Terri Laundrie and Michelle Anderson Mann.

The family would like to thank the staff at New Perspective Memory Care and Moments Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided Lois.

Friends and family will gather at St. Patrick Parish, 211 N. Maple Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
