Linda A. (Coel) Hanson, 74, passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born May 4, 1948, in Green Bay to Harold and Pearl (DeWitt) Coel.
Linda graduated from Preble High School and enjoyed volunteering for the Green Bay Cerebral Palsy Telethon. She worked at St. Norbert College when she met Gordon Hanson on a blind date at Pulaski Polka Days. They married on October 2, 1971. Together they started a family plumbing business and passed the plumbing trade on to their three sons. Linda was instrumental in managing the accounting for the business until her retirement. Linda loved to have fun and was the life of the party. She cherished her years singing with a group of ladies called the Stumble Bums who entertained at local weddings and nursing homes. It was not uncommon for Linda to get into mischief with her wild group of friends, self-named the "Gotcha Girls". Linda also enjoyed quality time at the family cottage, cruising the flowage on the pontoon boat, and watching sunsets on the deck. She loved going to casinos with friends and was known for her incredible luck! Linda was never one to pass up the opportunity for fun times and loved being in the middle of it all whether with friends or family.
Linda loved her family dearly and showed it in many ways. She valued traditions and always made sure every family member's birthday was celebrated with a meal and her knack for finding the perfect card, insisting it be read out loud for all to hear. She strived to make each Christmas and Thanksgiving very special for the whole family. Her Thanksgiving turkey was cooked to perfection every year. Linda was so proud of her sons and grandchildren. She spoiled them with her love, generosity, and gifts whenever she could.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Gordon; sons, Mark (Lori Schwartz), Cory (Becky) Hanson, Rob Hanson; grandsons, Christopher, Drew; siblings, Karen (Jerry) Skaala, Diane (Roger) Jenko, Mike Coel; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pearl; brother, Harold Jr. "Sam" (Kay) Coel.
