Lillian Melvina Hurkmans, 81, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born January 8, 1943, in Escanaba, MI to Ira and Gladys (Clearmont) Hudson.

Lillian married Joe Hurkmans on June 25, 1980. She loved being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life, and she took them with her everywhere. Lillian was affectionately known as "grandma" in the communities where she volunteered. For many years Lillian was an active volunteer through church at St. Vincent de Paul, Paul's Pantry, and the Salvation Army. She was always in service to others, putting the needs of others before herself. Lillian was loving and giving. She enjoyed attending church service, reading, and planting flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; children, Ray (Tina) Olejnik, Melissa Olejnik, Jeannie (Chris) Valadez, Susan (Larry) Peterson; grandchildren, La Tasha (Gregory Holloway) Coleman, Jasmine (Daniel) Otte, SunNya (Khari), Tavaris Carter, Jason Larush, Azaria (Juan Carlos) Hernandez, Paris (fiancée, Virginia Misco) Coleman Jr., Jessica Cantu, Soline (Carlos), Zane Carter, Jesse Cantu, Chris Cantu, Jordan (Margarita) Carter, Ja 'Coya (Alex Duffus) Coleman, Avery Carter, Michael Coleman, Myeesha Coleman, Lia Peterson, Syniyah Johnson, Zayla Olejnik, Valentino Johnson III; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Carol), Joe (Nancy), Wade (Lenae), Milt (Mary Lou), David, Peter (Jessica), Gladys Elegeert, Mary Hudson, Ada DeBaker, Ruth (David) Vanenkefort, Jean Hudson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Gladys; children, Raylean Olejnik, Michael Olejnik, Gladys Olejnik; brother, Jim Hudson; sister-in-law, Patty Hudson; brother-in-law, Tom Elegeert.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 13; Funeral Service to follow at 1 p.m. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
