Lester "Les" J. Haen, 90, Green Bay, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025. He was born July 27, 1934, in Sturgeon Bay to Lester P. and Regina (Kita) Haen.
Les graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School, Class of 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1953 to 1955. Les worked for over 35 years as a meat cutter, the last 27 with Sentry Foods in Green Bay. He retired in 1996. Les married Marilyn R. Michaud on October 4, 1965. Together they enjoyed being members of the "Just for Fun Club." Les was a member of the Knights of Columbus council #6464 and a longtime member of the AM Vets of Sturgeon Bay. Les loved to travel, camp, hike, ski, fish, visit numerous state parks, spend time in the UP, and his hobby, woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Andrew (Angeline "Angie") Haen; Renee (Thomas "Tom") Vandenberg; grandchildren, Sophie, Peter, Lila; sibling, Elaine Stoffel; brother-in-law, Elton Stephenson; sister-in-law, Shirley Michaud; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Regina; sisters, Betty Lou Stephenson, Evelyn (William) Schick; parents-in-law, George and Ruth Michaud; brothers-in-law, Bill Stoffel, Ray (Barb) Michaud, Robert Michaud, Francis (Geneva) Michaud, Vern Hetu; sisters-in-law, Jackie (Don) Petrasek and Kathy Hetu.
Friends and family will gather at St. Joseph Parish, Oneida, 145 St. Joseph Dr., from 9am to 11am on Tuesday, July 29; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
