Leonard A. "Len" Teresinski, 83, Ashwaubenon, was born into new life on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He was born on September 14, 1940 on Rost Lake in Coleman, WI to the late Edward and Lillian (Stodola) Teresinski.
Len was a graduate of Coleman High School, Class of '58. He went on to Marquette University, studying Mechanical Engineering and making lifelong friendships with his Fraternity brothers in Sigma Phi Delta. He would go on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and Philosophy from Mount Saint Paul College in Waukesha before completing a graduate program in Theology in 1971 from St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee.
Len was a priest for four years from 1971-1975. He then went on to become a management recruiter for over 10 years before starting his own company, Techstaff in 1987. In that same year, Len became the supervisor for the Town of Hobart, a position he held until 1993. He then became the chairman for Hobart in 1995. He would then go on from being the chairman to the president of Hobart in 2002.
Len was instrumental in the process of turning Hobart from a town into a village, an accomplishment that also happened in 2002. Beyond this, he was also heavily involved in the community, leading the development of the proposed municipal water agreement between the nine area communities of Green Bay. He helped form the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in 2001, fostered the Water Utility agreement between Hobart and Ashwaubenon, and planned the boundary agreement between Hobart, Lawrence, and Ashwaubenon in 1996.
A strong supporter of his community, Len was a volunteer firefighter for Hobart from 1979-2000 and was a parish member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida, where he ushered, taught religious education, chaired the picnic and stewardship committee, and was the leader of the Renew program. Len was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6464. He was truly an instrument of God.
Len's love of serving his community led him to the Wisconsin Towns Association. He joined the Urban Town's Executive Committee where he was the statewide director beginning in 1996. Len was a true asset to his community and his country alike wherever he went. Even in his retirement, Len became the manager of the Coachlite Resort in Minocqua, WI and was the President of the condominium association there.
Len was united in marriage to Jane Peterson (nee Timmers) on Oct 1, 1976. On August 30, 2019, they strengthened their union by being married in the Catholic Church.
In his free time, Len loved to play and watch sports of all kinds. He was a big Packer fan, going to games with his wife for over the last 40 years.
Len is survived by his loving wife, Jane; stepsons, Michael (Lisa) Peterson, Steven Peterson; step granddaughters, Erin Peterson, Emily (Mark) Peterson; step great grandson, Mikkel; brothers, Gerald (Carol), Richard (Donna), George ( partner Karen); sisters, Barbara (Kurt) Hempel, Kathleen (Tom) Kunerth, Mary Boville; sister in law, Marge; brother-in-law, James (Ann) Timmers; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
