Lenard "Len" Van Denack, 69, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at a local hospital. He was born April 1954 to James and Jacqueline Van Denack.
Len graduated in 1972 from West De Pere High School. Following high school, Len served in the US Navy as a chef from 1973 to 1976 and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He worked at many area supper clubs including the Union Hotel and Oneida Golf and Riding Club.
On March 5, 1988 he married Diane Ribitski. Len loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing with his dad and anyone else that would throw a line. Len would annually attend the De Pere Redbird Holly Fest with Diane and his sisters. Together they would go for lunch afterwards. He had many fond memories of taking trips with his wife. Together they visited Disney in Florida, and a special trip for her birthday to the Wisconsin Dells.
Len would spend time hanging out at Uncle Ray's cottage in Dyckesville, go deer hunting with his dad, brother, son, nephews, and brothers-in-law at the cabin in Beecher. He loved duck and geese hunting with his dad. Len would frequently get breakfast with his VET buddies at Bayview Restaurant and on Fridays they would get breakfast at Festival Foods.
His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his fur-babies.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane; children, Kelly (Robert) Austin, James Van Denack, Ryan Van Denack; grandchildren, Monique, Brandon, Kaydance, Haley; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Carson, Sofia; parents, James and Jacqueline; siblings, Theresa (John) Goodletson, Kathleen (James) Weber, Joseph (Jennifer Janssen) Van Denack, Donna (Patrick) George, Denise (Dale) Deterville; Diane's siblings, Bob (Heidi) Rebitski, Karen (Paul) Butler, Mike (Diane) Rebitski; nieces and nephews, Aharon Goodletson, Marcus (Chad) Goodletson, Jason Van Denack, Joshua Roske, Amanda Weber, Jessica (Cody) Cavanaugh, Cora Janssen, Sandra George, Mya George, Adam Deterville, Katrina Woodke (also his Goddaughter), Rachel (Matt) Mahoney; faithful companion, Bella; numerous great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Len was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Dean; nephew, Jeremiah Roske; nieces, Sarah George, April Janssen; parents-in-law, Carol and Roy Ribitiski; faithful companions, Cinder, Whiskey, Raven, Bailey; grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15; Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Military Honors will conclude the service. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
