Lawrence "Larry" N. Ullmer, 64, Green Bay, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 19, 2024. He was born April 29, 1960, in Green Bay to Jerome and Judith (Allen) Ullmer. He was raised on the family farm and enjoyed an active childhood with his siblings.
Larry held a loyal 45-year career with County Rescue Services, serving a graduation of roles as an EMT, Paramedic, Shift Supervisor, Captain, and ultimately attaining the role of Director for County Rescue and EAGLE III before retiring. He was a member of the Specialized Trauma and Rescue Team (STAR), the Dive Rescue Team, the Critical Care Transport Team (CCT), and represented the company on many hospital committees, area EMS Councils, College Advisory Committees, and the 911 Users and Executive Boards. Larry also spent 12 years as a Deputy Medical Examiner for Brown County.
On May 28, 1983, he married Kay Stark at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Howard, WI. Larry loved spending time with his family, taking bicycle trips and cross-country vacations. He especially enjoyed playing cribbage with his father, as well as traveling with cherished close friends and sharing monthly supper club nights with them. He prided himself on working in his yard, riding, and maintaining his motorcycles, and told the most entertaining (and true) stories. Larry dreamed of acquiring his private pilot's license and achieved this, enjoying many flights and studying aircraft.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; children Ashley (Jeremy) and Steve (Justine); father, Jerome; siblings, Beth (Brad), Ellen (Al), Claire (Brad), and Tom (girlfriend, Cindy); mother-in-law, Hazel; siblings-in-law, Karla (Chuck), Pam (Doug), Bruce (Sherry); nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many treasured friends and coworkers.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Judith; infant sister, Mary Lea; sister-in-law, Kelly; and father-in-law, Elmer.
Visitation will be at Swan Club, 875 Heritage Rd., De Pere, from 10 am to Noon on Saturday, Dec 7; with a memorial service to start at noon. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
