LaVern Ellef Jones

LaVern "Bud" Ellef Jones, 100, Green Bay, Wisconsin, called to Heaven on Saturday, August 15, 2026 to be reunited with his beloved wife, Myrna. He was born April 3, 1926, in Green Valley to George and Manilta (Olson) Jones.

Bud was raised in Navarino, WI on the family farm. On September 26, 1948, Bud married Myrna B. Fischer in Shawano at St. James Lutheran Church. Together they raised their family in Shawano. They move to Green Bay 18 years later in 1967. Bud and Myrna enjoyed many years of camping as a family and especially loved when all their grandchildren could join too. Bud worked as a meat cutter until he retired. Even during his retirement, Bud was always on the go. He was always there to help and was willing to help anyone. Bud could build or fix just about anything.

He is survived by his children, Dennis (Angie) Jones, Jeanne Braun, Sherry House, Dale Jones; grandchildren, John Jones, Jason Braun, Crystal Braun, Tammy Umentum, Jamie House, Jesse Jones, Michelle Dahl, Amy Jones; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna; parents, George and Manilta; brother, Len (Elaine) Jones; sister, Angie (Myron) Haws; son-in-law, Jerry House.

Friends and family will gather at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S. Oneida St., from 10am to 11:30am on Friday, August 21; Service to follow at 11:30am. Burial will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
