Lavaun M. Kaster, 87, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 after a chronic illness. She was born August 3, 1938, in Green Bay to Jacob and Marie (Ronsmans) Kaster.

Lavaun was a beloved daughter, cherished sister, and dear aunt and great-aunt. She graduated from Luxemburg High School and went on to become a beautician. She spent many years employed as a hair stylist while pursuing her passion for art. Along with her love of Art, she was an avid gardener, and her beautiful gardens could be seen at her home in New Franken. Her love of animals was apparent in her younger years raising and training dogs, raising rabbits, and horseback riding with her beloved horse, Bobby.

She made an inspiring impact on her community through her beautiful artwork and has been a featured artist at the Showcase Gallery, has displayed many of her works at other galleries in Door County and has many of her paintings displayed in private collections around the country. She even had paintings on display at the Neville Public Museum Art Annual for a number of years.

Lavaun had always known that she wanted to learn how to draw and paint. Initially she enjoyed paint-by-numbers and Artex on fabric but still wanted to expand her talents. In 1984, she decided to enroll in art classes and various workshops. There Lavaun learned how to draw and started painting a year later. She successfully learned to paint what she saw in all types of media, including pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, pastel, oil, etching. She found it thrilling to put down on paper or canvas what she saw, no matter the subject matter or medium.

She is survived by her brother, Donald, her nieces and nephews, Loriann Edwards Olson (Martin), Jason Kaster (Michelle), Theresa Kaster (Ron Randle) and great nieces and nephews, Michael Kaster (Dan Sandacz), Madeline Kaster, Jake Kaster, Alexandria Randle, and Cody Randle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Diane (Petri) Kaster, and Michael Edwards.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10am to 11am on Saturday, March 7, 2026; Memorial Service to follow at 11am. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lavaun's name to help aspiring artists.

Special thanks to all the nurses and doctors that have impacted Lavaun and her family. Extended gratitude to those true Angels involved in her care at Dimensions Living and Moments Hospice. Your kindness is more appreciated than words can express.
