Laurelyn Jewel Heier, 88, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. She was born December 2, 1937, to Julius Julian and Lillian (Antilla) Paul, proud Finnish American parents who instilled in their family a strong sense of faith, resilience, and love.

Laurelyn was raised in Green Bay as one of six beautiful sisters in a close and loving household. Her mother's Finnish heritage was an important part of her upbringing and family identity, and those roots shaped Laurelyn's appreciation for tradition, togetherness, and enduring family bonds.

She was first married to James Melendy, and together they raised three daughters: Ann Atkinson, Debra (Myles) Lambert, and Lisa (Sean) Mahoney. Laurelyn was a devoted and adventurous mother, creating a childhood filled with love and unforgettable experiences. She cherished memories of camping trips, ski trips to the U.P., and family adventures in the Northwoods at family lake homes.

Laurelyn married Bob Heier in 1982, and did just about everything together. They enjoyed going to musicals, plays, and concerts, playing cards with family and friends, baking delicious desserts, and listening to music, especially Neil Diamond. Laurelyn had a love for adventure and travel, which she joyfully shared with friends and family. She and Bob proudly visited all 50 states (Bob was the driver), making a point to see each state capital, and enjoyed trips to the Caribbean Islands, Hawaii, and Europe.

Time spent with her sisters meant the world to Laurelyn, especially her close bond with her sister, Laurinda (Thomas) Baker and their three children. She enjoyed family gatherings filled with fun and laughter. Laurelyn was a proud and loving grandmother to Michael Atkinson, Jr., Myles II (Lili) Lambert, and Rachel Lambert, Cailin Mahoney, and Aiden Mahoney, who brought her immense joy.

She was a faithful member of West Side Moravian Church for over 65 years. Laurelyn lived her life guided by faith raising her children under God's loving care. She is now at peace in God's hands.

Laurelyn will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her adventurous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love for family and good times.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Heier; daughters, their spouses, and her grandchildren; sister, Laurinda (Thomas) Baker; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Laurelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Lillian Paul; son-in-law, Michael Atkinson; beloved sisters, Lillian, Lauraine, Lauretta, and Lucretia whom she held close in her heart throughout her life.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
