Kenneth Walter Schulz, 84, died on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Unity Hospice in De Pere, WI. He was born on March 25, 1939 at Marinette WI. He was the son of the late Walter and Evelyn (Garbrecht) Schulz.
He attended the Park, Loomis and Fairmont grade schools in Marinette County. He graduated from Marinette High School in 1957. He received both BS and MS in Industrial Education from UW - Stout in 1965 and 1970.
Ken was employed as a draftsperson for Unit Structures in WI and NY. He taught at (NWTI, then NWTC) Northeast Wisconsin Technical College from 1965 to 2001. He taught courses in the Architectural and Model programs, Electrical Math for the Lineman program, and he also taught print reading to building trade apprentices. Four of his students became instructors in the Architectural, Model and Apprenticeship programs at NWTC.
Ken designed and built most of the house he owned. His second interest was electricity, and as a junior in high school he wired his grandpa's house which had been originally built without electricity. Ken's other interests were photography, gardening, woodworking, and writing short personal history stories.
Ken is survived by two children, Arlene of Webster, MA and Sidney of New Albany, IN; two grandchildren, Nathan and Megan. He is further survived by four brothers and their wives: Arlyn and Linda of Minden, NV; John and Mary of Pittsville, WI; Carl and Marilyn of Porterfield, WI; and Ralph and Naida of Beresford, SD. He is also survived by Arlene and Sidney's mother Carol, of Little Chute WI. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen.
Special thanks is given to the hospice staff, especially social worker Molly, visiting nurse Brianna, and caregiver Kaylee.
Visitation will be Friday, February 16 from Noon to 2 pm at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay. There will be no funeral service. Interment will be private at Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
