Kathryn A. Tobias, 84, De Pere, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born on March 9, 1941 in Green Bay to James and Margaret (Blaney) Tobias. Kathryn graduated from St. Joseph Academy and St. Norbert College with a bachelors in French. She taught French at St. Mary's in Menasha, and in Green Bay at Washington Junior High and retired from Southwest High School.

Kathryn was an independent woman with many opinions - even if you did not want to hear them. She spoke her mind and held firmly in her beliefs and convictions – all of which were rooted in kindness and strength. Although terribly independent, she took great pride in keeping her home and garden well taken care of. Kathryn loved all animals and took in many strays over the years. Each of her pets were treated like royalty.

Kathryn kept an active life with many runs and bike rides. She even enjoyed going for swims, especially on her yearly trip to Hawaii with her siblings. Kathryn will be remembered as a passionately loyal friend and family member. She took great care of her mother throughout her life and was grateful to be the aunt to her nieces and nephews. Everyone looked forward to her annual Christmas Brunch that brought the family together for good times and good food. Irish through and through, her wit was outstanding and could catch you off guard.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Stenger; nieces and nephews, Scott Stenger, Mark Stenger, Anne (Andy) Franken, Amy (Mike Davis) Tobias, Timothy Tobias, Jamie Steckart, Kelly Jones; great nieces and great nephews, Ashley Bryan, Tyler (Melissa) Stenger, Nicholas Stenger, Patrick (Rana) Franken, Claire Franken and William Franken, Maverick Tobias; great-great nephews, Jack and Max Stenger and Braidyn Lasee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret; and brother, Jim (Kathy) Tobias.

Visitation will be at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22; with a funeral service to follow at 3:30 pm. with Sr. Pat Clement officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

Kathryn's family extends their gratitude to the compassionate staffs of Tender Hearts Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for the care.
