Karen Blom, 78, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was born January 3, 1948, in Marinette, WI to Edgar "Ed" H. and Bernice (Kuntz) Berth.
Karen graduated from Green Bay West High School and attended Wartburg College until she decided to leave college and marry the love of her life, Leland Blom. The two were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Green Bay on July 13, 1968. Together they supported each other in each of their endeavors. They took great joy in raising their children and watching their grandchildren grow up.
Over time Karen had worked for Dr Frasier's office, the Press Gazette and retired from Associated Bank where she made many longtime friends. Karen took great joy in her family and friends. She always had a vision and was grateful that Lee was able to help her implement it. This partnership made their home inviting and beautiful. Karen excelled at her beautiful yard and gardens. She enjoyed puttering in her yard but detested when any weed snuck through, as she disliked weeding. Karen enjoyed sitting on her front porch, reading many books and long car rides that had no destination, just peace.
Karen lived intentionally and made you feel loved. She loved hearing about her children and grandchildren's lives and were their biggest cheerleader. She loved her coffee time with her sister and many hands of cribbage with her grandson, Devin, that she most likely won.
Karen was a faith filled woman and enjoyed being a longtime member at Trinity Lutheran Church where she attended Bible studies and volunteered with the pantry.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Fraedrich; son, David (Tessa) Blom; son-in-law, Kevin Fraedrich; daughters-in-law, RaeAnn, Kristen; grandchildren, Devin Blom (Autumn), Hannah Klunder, Paige Klunder, Dylan Fraedrich, Carson Blom; sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Cartier; sisters-in-law, Joyce Berth, Shirley Blom, Grace Blom, Bev Blom; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; son, Derek Blom; granddaughter, Emma Blom; parents, Edgar and Bernice; brother, Gary Berth; in-laws, Lawrence and Louise; brothers-in-law, Roger Blom, Wally Blom, Larry Blom; sister-in-law, Arbutus (Ralph) Roth
