Joyce "Joy" Anne (Weeks) King, 86, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. Joy was born on July 13, 1938 in Chicago, IL. Due to circumstances out of her control; her father left her life at age 5 and her mother passed away in her teens. Joy was placed in foster care and graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, class of 1956. Her remarkable life is a testament for perseverance, strength, faith, and kindness.

With her gentle demeanor, Joy loved all creatures and owned many dogs and cats throughout her lifetime. Her current companion was an orange tiger kitty named Rudi, who gave her great comfort. Joy had a gift for gardening and tended the most beautiful garden at her home! She frequently shared seeds & plants to help others establish their own gardens. Joy was active in her Christian faith and attended the Salvation Army Church where she volunteered and formed many friendships. She helped in the senior room twice-weekly setting up for the Bridge Club. Joy did Meal on Wheels delivery for ten years and volunteered for Christian Outreach Ecumenical Thanksgiving Dinner for many years working as a server. Fiercely independent, Joy lived in her home up to her passing - greatly helped by her son, Kelly, in maintaining her independence. Joy's many friends helped her with rides to appointments, she enjoyed friendships at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, as well as weekly domino sessions.

Joy is survived by her two sons, Kelly King and Kasey (Sandy) King; two granddaughters, Kristine (Chad) Zadrazil, and Sarah (John) Paskiewicz; as well as four great-grandchildren, Eliza, Theodore, Winifred, Miriam Joy, and expecting one more in February 2025. She was deeply proud of her family and a devoted grandma and great-grandmother.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (NOON) on Saturday, March 15; Memorial Service to follow at 12 p.m. (NOON). Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .

Joy's family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the friends at the Salvation Army, The Kroc Center, Good Shepherd Nursing Home, and Unity Hospice for all of their care, compassion, kindness, and friendship. She always appreciated the prayers and comfort.
