Joyce O. Hannemann, Green Bay, 89, passed away August 8, 2025. She was born on January 7, 1936, in Merrill, WI to Herbert and Dorothea (Schult) Hannemann.

Joyce graduated from UW Stevens Point. She was a lifelong kindergarten teacher for over 40 years at Chappell Elementary School in Green Bay. Following her retirement, she became a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Railroad Association. Joyce's passion for genealogy brought her on various ancestry trips to Germany. She also greatly enjoyed her trip to Australia, where she pursued her love of downhill skiing. Joyce was an avid sports fan, attending many Green Bay Packer games, and nearly every UWGB Lady Phoenix basketball game. She enjoyed playing golf in her free time. She loved going to the Weidner Theater, as well as playing board games with her family and friends. Joyce enjoyed living at Brookview Meadows Senior Living in Green Bay and the many friends she made there. She kept a meticulous home and was loved by everyone who knew her, especially her students.

Joyce is survived by her siblings, Lester (Junice) Hannemann, Bernice (Robert) Porath, Gerhard (Sally) Hannemann; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and step-family, Diane, Nancy, Vern (Mary Ellen), Ralph (Judy), other relatives, and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Hannemann; mother, Dorothea (Milfred) Bergelin; siblings, Lucille (Eugene) Fox and Martin (Shirley) Hannemann; stepbrothers, Dan and Lee Bergelin.

Friends and family will gather at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway Avenue, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 6, 2025. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Merrill at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choosing.
