Joseph "Joe" Patrick Walder, 81, Green Bay, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 16, 1941, in Green Bay to Joseph D. and Elsie (Belleau) Walder.
Joe graduated from Premontre High School, Class of 1959. He attended St. Norbert's College for one year while studying engineering. On March 11, 1962 he married Linda Petz. Together they had four children. Joe worked at Paper Converting Machine Company for over 40 years until his retirement in 2002. He travelled for work, in road service which took him all over the world. Joe was proud of having visited five out of the seven continents and that he had tested as a genius. Joe had a gift for remembering dates, especially birthdays. He enjoyed wood working, golfing, and grilling out. He was a fantastic cook and baker, everyone loved his food. In 1992 he married Ann Simon. Joe was a huge social butterfly, possessed strong social skills and could and would talk to anyone and everyone. He had the gift of gab, a sense of humor and a story to tell, SOMETIMES MORE THAN ONCE. Joe had a one liner or a joke for every occasion and was a playful jokester. He was an excellent dad, a hardworking provider for his family, making sure they never went without. Joe loved having fun, having water fights and frisbee wars with his kids.
He is survived by his children, David (Cindy) Walder, Nancy Walder Davis; grandchildren, Brandon (Liz) Walder, Joseph Walder, Ellie Walder, Mitchell Lepak, Maria Lepak, Danielle Davis, Brianna (Mack) Koebach, Tyler Davis; great-grandchildren, Ryland, Rylie, Harper, and one on the way; siblings, Clarence "Jim" (Lorna) Nader, John (Diane) Walder, Mary Boyce; stepchildren, John (Wendy) Diamond, Paul (Johana) Diamond, Jeff (Dawn) Diamond; stepgrandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Scott, Jake, Alyssa, Carter, Robert, Kory, Ashley; step great-grandchildren, Kaidence, Mila, Zara, Jaxon, Landon, Brinley; 30 nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elsie; mother of his children, Linda Petz; children, Lisa Lepak, Matthew Walder; stepson, Bob Diamond; siblings, Richard Nader, Anita VandenElzen, Amy Evraetz; daughter-in-law, Kathy Walder.
Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3; Memorial Service to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Ben Cline officiating.
