Listen to Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Gonion, 72, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 after a short three-month battle with cancer. He was born December 10, 1953, in Green Bay to Albert "Bud" and Jeanne (DenRuyter) Gonion.

Joe was born the middle of five children. He married Debra "Debbie" Lepak and together they celebrated 45 years of marriage. Joe loved being a grandpa and being active with his grandkids. He enjoyed being behind the wheel and overall enjoyed cars. Joe had a long career in truck driving. After over 45 years of driving truck, he still enjoyed a nice long drive, especially the drive up north to Kelly Lake to spend time with Deb and her family. Joe was a fan of NASCAR, dirt track racing, and almost any type of vehicle race. He enjoyed a good fish fry and dinner at the Redwood Inn. Joe was an avid Packer fan and proud season ticket holder. He enjoyed a good game of cribbage and his daily scratch-off tickets.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Stephanie (Jason Reinhard) Johnson, Becky (Mike Davitt) Gonion, Tyler (Caitlyn Croake) Gonion, Calvin Huff, Joe Gonion and his family; grandchildren, Kaylee (Andrew) Jopek, Cohen Johnson and their father, Derek; Deanna Davitt, Danielle Davitt, Austin Reinhard, Wyatt Reinhard, Harley Reinhard; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Franklin, Henry; brothers, Mike Gonion, Lee Gonion; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Jeanne; brother, Danny (Jane) Gonion, John; sister-in-law, Vanessa Gonion; parents-in-law, Connie and Windy Lepak.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 2pm to 5pm on Monday, October 12; Funeral Service to follow at 5pm. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

Family extends a special thank you to the staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Aurora Hospice, especially RN Lauren and CNA Chelsey, and longtime family doctor, Dr. Loren Fuglestad for all of their care given to Joe and his family.

Joe,
Thank you for all the years of love, fun, care, and compassion you gave to me and our family over the many years.
Love always, Debbie
