John "Stretch" Whitcomb Sr., 60, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was born July 15, 1965, in Green Bay to Patrick and Carolyn L. (Daniels) Whitcomb.

John graduated from Premontre High School, Class of 1984. He worked for Dress Beef (American Foods) and H.J. Martin. John worked for H.J. Martin for over 30 years and was a carpenter all his life. He worked his way up to foreman of interior installation.

He enjoyed the work he did and especially enjoyed being able to work with his hands. John loved to travel and was a huge Green Bay Packer fan. During his work travels he visited 49 of the 50 states and was able to find a Packer bar in each one. John especially enjoyed his time spent traveling on the east coast. In addition to the Packers, he was a fan of the Badgers and liked to watch any football game.

When he wasn't exploring the states, he was happy to spend time up north. On October 22, 2004, John married Jayne Stary. His wife, children, and grandchildren were the light of his life. John was very proud of his three sons and loved being a grandpa, they were all his pride and joy. The time spent with his family was the times he was happiest.
