John 'Jack' Nesbitt, 88, Green Bay, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. He was born on December 2, 1937, in Green Bay, to Raymond A. and Violet (Bock) Nesbitt.

John grew up in Green Bay and graduated from Green Bay East High School, Class of 1955. Following high school, John enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for six years. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Puerto Rico. It was there that he had learned the history and details on Three Kings Day; this became only the beginning of John's interest in the holiday!

Upon returning home, John married Nancy Truebenbach, on June 25, 1966. Shortly after, the couple moved to Eau Claire where John attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stout, earning a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. He taught at a local high school as a shop teacher. John and Nancy moved back to Green Bay, once John got a job teaching drafting at NWTC. They built their home in 1972 and that is where John resided the rest of his life! John took a lot of pride in his work as a project manager on many major construction projects throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states.

John was a very faith filled man. He and Nancy were some of the founding members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He was always very active within the church itself, whether it be volunteer work, being an Elder, working in Stevens Ministry and was very influential in beginning the school at church.

When he wasn't busying himself with church, John had a number of hobbies. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking, fishing, building and fixing, camping and going to Buck Lake. He was a lifelong Packer and Brewer fan.

He was the most devoted husband, dad and grandpa who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 59.5 years and 1 day, Nancy; his children, Paul (Kristin) Nesbitt, Kathy (Mike Thompson) Downs; granddaughter, Kaylin Nesbitt; siblings, Pat Truebenbach, Barb Callahan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Elda and Carl Truebenbach; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Truebenbach, Dan Callahan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

John's family wishes to extend a special thank you to his nurses at Aurora BayCare Hospital, Ashley, Colleen, Molly and Savannah; you were all phenomenal.
