John George Burby, 43, Green Bay, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at a local hospital following a short illness. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1984 and furthered his education at N.W.T.C. He graduated with an Associate Degree in Non-destructive Testing. In his professional life, he achieved a Level 3 Inspector Status and worked for 20 years in this field in Milwaukee, and most recently in Kaukauna and Manitowoc.

John loved the great outdoors, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, and especially campfires. He was an animal lover, especially dogs, and at various times, kept vast populations of fish and a cockatiel. If he had to be inside, he was at his computer. Fantasy Football was one of his favorite games. He followed all sports and racing. The Badgers and Packers were his passion.

He is survived by his parents, Marge and George Burby; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Rick Hillman, Appleton; his nephews, Matt and Greg Hillman; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating.
