It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic and unexpected death of Joel Samuel Willmann on November 20, 2025, in Green Bay, WI. Joel was born on January 21, 1994, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Kurt D. Willmann, now living in Sister Bay, WI and to Laurie A. Stone, now living in Sobieski, WI. Joel gave his love and heart to Taylor Krzych Nielsen and together they welcomed the birth of their son Tatum Paul Willmann on April 5, 2023. Joel was so proud of Tatum and regularly shared funny stories and photos of Tatum's adventures. Joel also loved Taylor's son Matthew Thomas Pearson and enjoyed teaching him about sports and playing video games with him.

Joel was a people person and was highly successful working in the hospitality industry and other occupations. Most recently, Joel began a new career working with the Ironworkers Union and he was excited to be learning new skills and to perhaps be able to use his exceptional physical strength in this new job. Joel was also an animal lover and seemed to be able to befriend dogs and cats wherever he went. During his childhood he proved to have exceptional athleticism in baseball as a pitcher and in football as a quarterback. At age thirteen he was measured by a radar gun throwing 82 mph fastballs.

Despite Joel's struggles, he had a heart of gold and always tried to find the positive in any situation. He had an amazing sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. All Joel really wanted to do was to be a good dad and he worked hard to be one. Joel recently started attending church and he became a member of the Oshkosh Community Church.

Joel is survived by his parents, Kurt (Margo) Willmann and Laurie Stone; maternal grandmother Joan Stone; Taylor Krzych Nielsen and her son Matthew Thomas Pearson; son Tatum Willmann; half-sisters Allison (Austin) Ryan and Jennifer Knoke; half-brothers Ian Willmann and Drew (Shea) Willmann; stepbrother Jordan (Melissa) Stewart; and nieces and nephews.

Joel is being cremated and a visitation and memorial service will be held at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave, Green Bay, WI on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with visitation from 11 am to 1 pm and the memorial service at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an educational fund for Joel's son Tatum at gofund.me/ef645c4cb or a substance use disorder treatment center or program of your choice.
