Joanne Eugenie Hanson, 88, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023. She was born September 9, 1934, in Suring, WI to Harold and Eugenie (Maxie) Buss.

Joanne graduated from Suring High School, Class of 1952. She and Gerald Hanson eloped on May 14, 1953, in Menominee, MI. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.  Joanne was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church for over 30 years. She worked for H.C. Prange and the First Wisconsin Bank until her retirement in 1990. Joanne enjoyed sweets, shopping, and going to Door County. She loved her family and made them her top priority.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Bergstrom, Paula Hanson; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Kane, Brent (Nick Westphal) Bergstrom; great-grandchildren, Brady Kane, Owen Kane; sister-in-law, Willis Hanson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents, Harold and Eugenie; brother, Harold Robert Buss; brother-in-law, Howard Hanson.

Friends and family will gather at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6; Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Scott Malme officiating.
