It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse James Gazell, a beloved son, partner, and friend, who left this world on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the age of 52 after a long illness under hospice care. He was born on September 23, 1973, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Jesse was the cherished son of George E. Gazell and Jan (Prusinski) Gazell.

Jesse spent his formative years in Wisconsin, graduating from Pulaski High School. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin - Black River Falls.

For over two decades, Jesse dedicated himself to serving the community through his work as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service.

Jesse was a man of many interests. He was an avid Packer fan and loved discussing the plays and strategies with friends and family. One of his most treasured pastimes was participating in Fantasy Football with his father, calling each other often to talk football, a tradition that brought them closer with each season and with each phone call. Jesse found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending afternoons on the golf course, a long bike ride, visits up north, or casting a line in the water while fishing. He loved long talks and meaningful conversations that carried over the years.

He is survived by his loving partner, Melissa Jahn; and a close-knit family that includes his father, George E. Gazell; uncles, Phil Gazell, Tom Gazell, and John Prusinski; aunts, Pam Prusinski Tepp and Pat Prusinski; and numerous cousins and friends.

Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, Jan; and his grandparents, Alice and George Gazell, and Elmer and Charlotte Prusinski.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, July 24 to celebrate Jesse's life. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

In lieu, of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Jesse's name.
