Jerome "Jerry" Ray, 75, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, May 23, 2026. He was born on June 29, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Franklin Ray and Lorraine Krueger.
Jerry was known for living life with great enthusiasm and curiosity. He was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and deeply valued his Native American heritage. Introduced to Christianity at an early age by his grandmother, Jerry maintained a strong and evident belief and faith in God.
Early on in life, Jerry developed a deep connection to Northern Wisconsin, a place he would later call home as he built his career and raised his family. Together with his former wife, Elle Ray, Jerry was blessed with three sons: Justin, Jesse, and Aaron. He was highly regarded for his exceptional skill in staircase construction and took great pride in enhancing many homes with his craftsmanship.
In 2004 Jerry met his beloved wife, Alma Fidel, in the Philippines. She and her son, Albern, later joined Jerry and his boys in the United States to begin their life together. The couple was united in marriage in January 2005 at Bay City Baptist Church.
Jerry found immense joy in sharing his love of nature and the outdoors with his sons, Justin, Jesse, Aaron, and Albern. He loved to travel, explore new places, and experience diverse cultures. Known for his affection for animals, Jerry frequently welcomed a variety of pets into his home and heart.
As a final expression of Jerry's generosity, he was able to donate his organs to help those in need. His family finds comfort in knowing that his light will live on through those he helped.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Alma Ray; his sons, Justin (Jolene) Kabacinski, Jesse (Katie) Ray, Aaron (Kristy) Ray, Albern Fidel (Sara Johnson); grandchildren, Branigan, Cadence, Ruby, Xavier, Evelyn, Catalina, Tessa, and Collin; brothers, Don (Sonia) Van Cura, Robert Connelly, and Daniel "Brad" Connelly; his cat, Golda; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Krueger; his father, Franklin Ray; and his brother, Charles "Babe" Ray.
