Jerome "Jerry" Kellerman

Born on February 3, 1931, to Henry and Johanna Kellerman, Jerry died at age 90 on Monday, February 15, 2021. A life-long Green Bay resident, Jerry graduated from West High School. Until his mid-eighties, he looked forward to reminiscing at the annual class reunion luncheons with his West High classmates, many of whom had also been St. Joseph grade school classmates.

Jerry chose to follow in his father's footsteps and become a plumber. After completing his apprenticeship, he joined his father in his business, H.G. Anderson Plumbing & Heating. Eventually Jerry became the owner of the business and operated it until he was 74. He enjoyed his work as a plumber and valued his reputation as an honorable businessman dedicated to performing quality work.

Jerry was sports enthusiast. An avid softball player for many years, he also managed and sponsored several teams. While he bowled in leagues, the sport he loved most was golfing, rarely missing a Saturday on the golf course because "it never rains on the golf course".

A proud and gentle man, Jerry was known and liked for his quick wit and subtle impish sense of humor. He liked people and children held a special place in his heart. He especially enjoyed the trick-or-treaters of all ages who came to his door on Halloween. Jerry appreciated all aspects of nature – animals, birds, planting flowers, vegetable gardening, and snow shoveling.

Jerry is survived by Darlene Ward; his sons and their families: Bruce, his wife, Deb and their daughter, Katelyn; Glen and his wife, Kathy; kissing cousin, Marianne Marcks; and a dear friend, Gwen (John dec.) LaFortune.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Johanna; aunts, uncles and cousins; Darlene's mother, Carm, often jokingly calling on her for help; his golfing buddies and other friends.

Due to Covid restrictions, a graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, February 19, at Fort Howard Memorial Park. All attending are to meet in front of the mausoleum prior and proceed to the gravesite together. The family extends thanks to Dr. Kevin Sandmire, ret. and Dr. Heather Stanko for the excellent care they provided to Jerry through the years. Many thanks to all the wonderful caregivers who gave so generously of themselves offering love and support to Jerry, in addition to meeting his personal care needs, over the past five years. You were special to him. Caring for Alzheimer's patients can be extremely difficult as the disease progressively destroys its victims' brains and causes devastating changes in their personalities. Jerry will be missed but we are comforted knowing that he is free of the anguish caused by that cruel disease.
