Jeremiah L. Farrell, 93, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026. He was born on July 16, 1932, at 937 Gallagher Street, to Thomas and Lulu (Fournier) Farrell.
He graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of 1950. He earned a Bachelors Degree with honors from UW-Stevens Point in 1957 – a Masters of Education Degree from UW-Superior in 1959 and a Doctor of Education Degree from the University of Wyoming, Laramie, on June 6, 1965.
Jeremiah enlisted in the Army after high school and volunteered to go to Korea where he served until December 1953. He continued serving in the National Guard retiring as a Major from the Alaskan Army National Guard in July 1992.
He began his career as a teacher of English at Pulaski High School, working his way up to University Professor and Dean of Students at the University of North Dakota. With his doctorate, Jeremiah worked as a Director of Mental Health in Alaska and ending his career as a licensed psychologist at the Alcohol and Drug Control Office for the US Army at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Jeremiah married Jean Lamine, on June 25, 1960, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida. They enjoyed traveling and visiting all 50 states. They lived in Alaska for 20 years and moved back to Wisconsin in 1993 and settled in Suamico.
Jeremiah enjoyed hunting, both duck and deer with his brothers. He became an excellent marksman, which helped greatly in the army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and helped with various fish frys and other church events. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited for years and many other groups.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean; his brothers, Michael Farrell, Gary (Shirley) Farrell; a brother-in-law, Robert Lamine; and many nieces, nephews, friends and many great neighbors.
Jeremiah was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lulu; brothers, Pat (Marian), Tom (Jean), John (Elaine); sister, Dorothy (Joe) Obecunas; infant brother, James; sister-in-law, Jane Farrell; his father and mother in-law, Ralph and Mabel Lamine.
Friends and family will gather at SS. Edward & Isidore Parish, 3667 Flintville Rd., from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16; The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Scott Valentyn.
