The Lord took his favored son, Jeffrey "Jeff" Steven Genal, 71, of Green Bay, home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. He was born August 26, 1954, in Oshkosh, WI to Steven and Elaine "Sam" (Heil) Genal.

Jeff graduated from Lourdes Academy High School, Class of 1973. He spent his youth either at the ball diamond, in the fields and woods around Oshkosh hunting, or on the frozen lakes ice fishing with family and friends. He met the love of his life, Teri Andacht, in Oshkosh and the two married on October 14, 1978. Together they had three children. Even after years of marriage, Jeff always lovingly referred to Teri as his girlfriend. He was a dedicated husband and loved spending time with his wife Teri, either at home or traveling wherever she wanted to go. Often the two would travel with their friends, Tom and Patti Wauters where Jeff was the best cabana boy you could ask for. Jeff and his amigos, Tom and Dave Gard, often traveled together to hunt, fish and share a bourbon. Teri and Jeff's travel adventures started when he and the gang started to travel to Annual Professional Bowhunting Society Conventions. For over 30 years Jeff worked for Georgia Pacific and retired in 2014, but still meet up regularly with the old papermakers. Retirement gave him more time for traveling, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He loved being a grandpa and attended all the grandkids sporting events; whether at the ball diamond, the soccer pitch, the gym or wherever the game was. Every year, he enjoyed stealing the grandkids for "Grandpa Camp", where they partook in whatever crazy activity the kids could come up with including daily ice cream runs and teaching them about hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Jeff was an avid Packer fan and season ticket holder and would never miss a game either on the radio, in person, or his favorite with family eating the other team. Jeff was also a dedicated Brewers fan and listened to them regularly and started attending games with his high school friends. Jeff was always willing to spin a yarn about his hunting and traveling adventures; especially if he could have a bourbon and a cigar.

He is survived by his children, Emily (Chad) Goetsch, Ben Genal, and Matt (Brittney) Genal; grandchildren, Bryn, Piper and Calvin Goetsch, and Mason and Lorelai Genal; siblings, Shirley (Bill) Jackson, Janet Grable; nieces and nephew, Rebecca (Lee) Stark, Tyler (Erin) Jackson, Hannah Grable; extended family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Teri; parents, Steven and Elaine; brother-in-law, Tony Grable.

Friends and family will gather at SS. Edward & Isidore Parish, 3667 Flintville Rd., from 9am to 11am on Saturday, June 20; Mass to follow at 11am. Burial will be at SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
