Jeannie Marie Medd-Pennington, 90, Green Bay, WI, died Friday, October 8, 2021.  She was born September 29, 1931 in Green Bay, WI to Oscar and Jennie Flagstad.

Jeannie attended and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1950.  This is also where she met her first husband and the father of her children, James H. Medd.  They were high school sweethearts and went on to marry and together raised five children. With James she discovered her love of travel, touring the U.S. in their RV and sailing the Great Lakes in their cabin cruiser.

She worked at Sentry grocery store in Ashwaubenon for several years and earned a bookkeeping certificate from NWTC as an adult learner.  She preferred travel over work and went on to explore the world with many cruises to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean. She also journeyed to Europe and Egypt, often sharing her memories of seeing the pyramids, riding a camel and being baptized in the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized. Jeannie held tightly to her strong faith and Norwegian heritage throughout her lifetime.

Jeannie enjoyed researching and putting together collections of dishes, coins, dolls, giraffes and other collectables.  She was quick to share her time and knowledge in the doll and antique study clubs of which she was a member. Talented in so many ways, she kept busy sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting ceramics and other crafts. Jeannie loved to play cards with her dear friends: Bettie, Carol and Lois. Jeannie was also known for her gardens, love of flowers and many cats.

At 69 years-old, she married her chat room romance, Charlie Pennington from California. Charlie and Jeannie split their time between California and Wisconsin with a great deal of travel in between. Charlie died in 2013 and has been sadly missed.

Jeannie is survived by five children and their spouses: James A. (Tracy) Medd, William M. (Jeannie) Medd, Tina M. (Pat) Brant, Kathleen R. (Tom) Largo and Lee Curtis Medd;  two step-children: Johnie C. (Roberta) Pennington, Helen Bruno and her special friend Kenny; two brothers, Bertrand (Delores) Flagstad, Andor (Joyce) Flagstad; 10 grandchildren: Angela (Medd) Paulson, Amy (Medd) Pagan, Ashley (Medd) Bump, Tiffany (Medd) Wimmer, Jacob Brant, David Brant, Thomas Langlay, Brian Largo, Steven Largo, Dan Medd; and nine great grandchildren.

Jeannie was met at heaven's gate by her husband, Charlie; her parents, Oscar and Jennie Flagstad; two brothers, Richard "Dickie" Flagstad, Oscar "Ozzie" Flagstad Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Flagstad; and beloved Auntie Agnus Phelps who was like a second mother.

Jeannie will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Green Bay First, 1460 Shawano Ave., on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m.  with Pastor Jerry Bruette officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park Cemetery.  To send online condolences please visit www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jeannie's name to benefit the Green Bay First Food Pantry, donations may also be made at https://gbf.churchcenter.com/giving
