Jean Julia DeRoost, 85, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, July 1, 2024. She was born May 6, 1939, in Pound to Edward and Anna (Kempka) Shehow.

Early in life, Jean worked at Kroll's East and Club Sahara. Jean attended vocational school to become a nurse's assistant. She worked as a nursing aid at Americana East and San Luis Manor. Jean spent time working for Saranac Glove. She was an active volunteer for cerebral palsy clients and Bingo at San Luis Manor. On October 31, 1959, she married Donald Richard DeRoost at St. Paul's Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2020. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. Jean loved spending time with family and putting together puzzles with Don. She enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. Jean stayed active throughout her life. She touched the lives of many people.

She is survived by her children, Sue and Joe Rabideau, Ginger Clark, Sherry and Dave Mattox, and Daniel DeRoost; eight grandchildren, Sara, Michael, Nathan, Tara, Trista, Eric, Reannah, Donavan; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; siblings, Judy Casper, Delores (Friend Jerry) Fiedorowicz, Leroy (friend, Mary) Shehow, Irene (Mark) Warner, Nancy (Charlie) Lesperance; sister-in-law, Kathy Shehow; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Edward and Anna; son-in-law, Shane Clark; infant brother, Kenny; brothers, Vernon (Arlene), Bobby, and George.
