Jean Marie Vanden Boomen, 63, passed away in the comfort of her own home, after over a decade of health struggles on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

She was born September 9, 1962 in Green Bay, WI., the last of 6 children to Joseph and Frances (Dupueis) Hager.

She graduated from Green Bay West High School Class of 1980. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis, volleyball, and darts. She worked at GMAC, Brennan Buick, Humana, and most recently Manhattan Life.

She married the love of her life, Jon Vanden Boomen on May 16, 1992. In recent years, after the amputation of her leg due to peripheral vascular disease, she found joy in simpler things, like puzzles, swimming, riding her scooter around the block, and being very involved in her children and granddaughters' lives. Jean loved to cook and bake with her specialty being spaghetti and meatloaf. Jean knew each person's favorite dish and would often make it for them. It brought her so much joy to have the family get together and gather around her delicious food. She always kept such a positive outlook on life, even with all of her health struggles.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jon Vanden Boomen; daughter, Kristi Vanden Boomen; sons and daughters-in-law, Jon (Miranda) Vanden Boomen; Luke (Dr. Kathryn Wolff) Vanden Boomen; grandchildren, Calia, Alexi, and one grandson, Granger on the way; she is further survived by her siblings, Sandra Vold, Karen (Dutch) Schultz, Joe (Barb) Hager, and Judy (Ruth Ferg) Hager; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances; her father and mother-in-law, Eugene "Gene" and Anne Vanden Boomen; brother, John Hager; brother-in-law, Gary Vold; and special aunts, Sue Whitney, Mae Dupueis, and Marie White.

Friends and family will gather at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 130 St Matthews St., from 10am to 11am on Tuesday, November 18; Mass to follow at 11am. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com

The family would like to extend thanks to all of Jean's healthcare professionals at St. Vincent's, Prevea, Bellin Hospitals and Unity Hospice. A special thank you to her sister, Judy, for all of her travels and care, especially in these last few days and to Blaney Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion.
