Jason P. Granius, 51, De Pere, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025.
A loving and gentle heart stopped on Thursday, March 6th, 2025. Jason was born on February 4th, 1974 to Mona (Verstoppen) Granius and the late Patrick Granius.
Education was an everlasting journey for Jason. He graduated with honors from Ashwaubenon High School in 1992 and became a proud alumnus of St. Norbert College. Jason's tremendous intelligence and love of science led him through extensive studies in chemistry and physics and a very successful position as a medical transcriptionist. From Linus to Daddy Warbucks, Jason also had the ability to wow audiences with his on-stage charisma and talent all four years in high school. His dazzling sense of humor delighted crowds and friends alike. His lifelong love of music spanned from the Green Bay Boy Choir and clarinet in the school band to a passion for performing on the pipe organ as an adult. His musical pursuits brought him on extensive travels in the Midwest, the East Coast, and Europe.
Jason was also a devout follower of Julia Child and the Barefoot Contessa. His love of cuisine and wine warmed many gatherings and card parties through his expert culinary skills. As a man of strong faith, Jason's love of our Lord pervaded every aspect of his life.
Survivors include his mother Mona (Jim) Kellerstrass, his sister Ann Marie Kellerstrass, two brothers, Andrew Kellerstrass and Ben (Nicole) Kellerstrass, and their son, Eric, loving grandmother Ramona Verstoppen, uncle and godfather, Gerald Verstoppen, aunt and godmother, Roxie Hilbert, and her children Chalonne, Ryan (Jessa), and Connor. Jason's special friends include Gene Birr and Joey Pokladowski. His closest connections are with his loving caregivers and roommates, Bill and Dave Raynier, who have come to form a brotherhood with Jason. His fur babies, cats Lizzie and Sawyer (Banana), as well as his favorite dog, Tenacious, will miss him dearly.
Jason is preceded in death by grandparents Richard (Dick) Verstoppen and Mildred and Bernard Granius, an uncle, Tom Hilbert, and his father, Patrick Granius. This kind and tender heart may no longer continue its rhythm, but Jason's heart will be with us for as long as we keep his mind, talents, and faith sacred and true.
