James "Jim" H. Shady, 59, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, Oct 1, 2024, after his long battle with COPD. Jim was born in Fon du Lac on December 11, 1964, to the late Lola Miller-Shady and Raymond Shady.
Jim was a devoted father and mentor to many. He had the biggest heart. Jim was always there to step up and be there for anyone who needed a shoulder. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, going to the casino, and spending time with family. Jim proudly served his country in the US Army and honed his skills there as a cook, making food for a literal army. He went on to work as a truck driver for several companies after returning from service.
Cooking was Jim's true passion. He was especially skilled at preparing fish, which he would lovingly make for family and friends. Jim's other love was music. He had an ear for classic rock and could tell you the name of the artist, the album, and all the others details of whatever you were listening to. He also enjoyed going to concerts with his family, most recently to see Ozzy Osbourne at Rock USA.
Jim is survived by his wife, Delores "DeeDee" Shady, his four children, Kira Shady (Cody), Tori (Kyle) Spletter, Rae Shady (Christopher), James (Meghan) Shady; his three stepchildren, Amber Harris (Eric), April (John) Lannoye, Jeremy Peterson; fifteen grandchildren; his siblings, Rick, Janet, Brenda, Edna and Kim; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9; memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
Jim's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and nursing staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for the compassionate care he received in his final days.
