James (Jim) Leuthold passed away from cancer after 12 years on October 3, 2026 at his Wisconsin home at the age of 73. He called his home Englewood, FL, but also had a summer residence near Green Bay, WI.
Jim was born in Wild Rose, WI on September 12, 1953. At 3 years old his family moved to Muskogee, OK, but would return to Wild Rose for the summers as his dad was a teacher and would work for the person that had purchased his hardware store in Wild Rose. What a great arrangement!
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Allard and Josephine Graham Leuthold, and his sister Linda Giffen.
He married the love of his life, Darla in 1992, and they shared four children. Dustin Wood (Andrea), with children Theya and Brekkin, Cullen Leuthold (Diana), Briana Joski (Mark) with children Jace and Charlee, and Kelby Leuthold (Lizbeth) with children Parker, Lucie, and Beckett. Also surviving is a sister Louise (Hank) Williams, and numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Jim and Darla were fortunate to be able to share many activities together, be it snow skiing in Colorado, power boating in Florida, sailing in Wisconsin, scuba diving, RVing, and traveling. All were fun to do, but the most interesting was RVing, getting to see places we would never had seen and people we would never have met.
Jim got his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He went to work for Chicago Bridge & Iron Company as an Engineer in Training, working in the field, the fab shop, and engineering out of the Houston office. After training was completed, Jim chose to go back into the field as an NTM Union Boilermaker working out of the Kankakee, IL office for two years constructing projects throughout the Midwest as a Boilermaker. In the four years working for Chicago Bridge, Jim worked in 19 different towns and enjoyed getting to see the country.
Jim chose to return to college to continue studies in Civil Engineering. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI to get more training in structural design. After completing these classes, Jim was fortunate to get a job with CR Meyer and Sons Company out of Oshkosh, WI as an engineer. This was the exact position Jim was looking for as it allowed him to design, estimate, and manage the work with the people in the field that he enjoyed. Jim worked for CRM for 34 years rising to the position of Senior Vice President.
Jim was on the board of the Oshkosh Zoological Society. He also volunteered at Father Carr's Place 2B and the Oshkosh Food Pantry.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Wednesday, October 14 at Celebration Church, 3475 Humboldt Road, Green Bay. Visitation starting at 1 pm and a short service to follow at 2 pm. Donations may be made to: Father Carrs Place 2B, 1062 N. Koeller St. Oshkosh, WI, Celebration Church, 3475 Humboldt Rd. Green Bay, WI 54311, or Echo Global Farms, 17391 Durrance Rd., North Fort Meyers, Fl 33917. To send online condolences, please go to, www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com
