It is with great sadness that the family of James Glock shares his passing on February 15, 2024, at the age of 81.
Jim was born in New London, Wisconsin on June 21, 1942 to Melvin and Oral Glock. Jim graduated as the salutatorian from Washington High School where he developed lifelong friendships as well as an appreciation for learning. He went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Jim spent his career as a biology teacher at Green Bay West High School. He was a very popular teacher and those he taught never forgot him. It was a common occurrence for Jim to be approached by former students anytime he was out in the world. They would share with him how much he positively impacted them. As one former student recently told us, Mr. Glock didn't only teach science, he taught about life and challenged people to be better. He wanted his students to grow, to be kind and genuine, and always remember how important it is to laugh!
Jim was a caring, protective and affectionate husband to his wife Sharon. He was a devoted father to his son Brad and was always so proud of him. Jim was also a great friend and neighbor and accepted everyone with an open heart and a welcoming smile.
Faith was very important to Jim. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where he also volunteered. Jim's love of the outdoors led him to his volunteer work with Trees for Tomorrow. He contributed as a chaperone and donor and was presented in 2017 with an award for his outstanding service to natural resource education.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon; his son, Brad (Lynn); his brothers, Gary (Ann) and Ron (Ginny); and many beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
