Hope (Rafeld) Maloney, 98, of Green Bay, passed away on April 7th following a short illness. She was born to Dorothy (Burke) Rafeld and Ernest Rayfeld on March 18th, 1926, in Gary, IN, but lived most her life in Green Bay, WI. She was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, class of 1944, and the University of Wisconsin, class of 1948. Hope worked in commercial advertising early on for the Wemple Advertising agency and later for Shopko and Prange's.

On May 28th, 1949. Hope married Gerald (Jud) Maloney, her high school sweetheart, and together they raised 5 children, of whom she was very proud. Jud and Hope spent many happy years together until Jud passed away on February 1, 2016. They were both sports enthusiasts, spending their summers on the golf course, winter bowling, and of course, Badger and Packer games. Hope was a good cook and enjoyed trying new recipes and especially enjoyed her bridge clubs right up to her last days.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Hope's name.

Hope wanted us to share this sentiment to all who loved her:

For her loving family, generous friends, with smiles as bright as their blossoms;

for feisty friends, as tart as apples;

for continuous friends, who like scallions and cucumbers, keep reminding us we have had them;

for crochety friends, as sour as rhubarb, and as indestructible;

for funny friends, as silly as brussels sprouts, and as amusing as artichokes;

for old friends, nodding like sunflowers in the evening;

for loving friends, who wind around us like tendrils and hold us;

and for those friends now gone, like gardens past that have been harvested, and who fed us in their times that we might have life thereafter.

- By Max Coots

The family would like to thank her special friend Heinz Nagel, and his daughter and son-in-law Birgit and Jeff Dierberg. A special thank you to the Bellevue Retirement community for 7 great years of love and care, and Moments Hospice of Appleton LLC.
