Helen M. (Gagnon) Kleczka, 93, of Suamico, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 10, 1930, in Stiles, WI, Helen was the daughter of Henry and Emma (Ehlert) Gagnon. On May 7, 1949, she married the love of her life, Alex A. Kleczka, in Suamico. Their love story began at a dance, and it was true love at first sight.
In addition to assisting Alex on the family farm, Helen enjoyed her nursing career, working at St. Mary's and St. Vincent's Hospitals in the nursery. She retired early and devoted her time to care for her granddaughters. Helen's joy was boundless when spending time with her grandchildren, always ready with a packed picnic basket for trips to the beach, pool, park, or the zoo. She especially cherished her weekly breakfast and lunch dates with her great-great-granddaughter, Kinslee, creating a special and heartwarming bond. Even on Helen's down days, Kinslee could light up her eyes.
Helen had a close relationship with her sisters, often enjoying shopping trips and various outings together. Known for her huge heart, she delighted in making others smile. Helen had a passion for shopping and gift-giving, showcasing her talent for keeping everything looking brand-new and mastering the art of removing any stain. Her grandchildren fondly recall her as the maker of the best toast.
Helen is survived by her children, Evelyn (Cliff) Buchart, Green Bay; Roger (Vicki) Kleczka, Suamico; son-in-law, Pete Campshure, Oconto; grandchildren, Amy (Terrence) Gunn, Jay (Sherry) Wolf, Heidi (fiancé Chad) Compton, Molly (Patrick) Kleczka-Harteau, Mandy Kleczka, Mindy (Jason) Kleczka, Karissa (Josh) Kleczka, Sara (Jeff) Naze, Mitch (Jamie) Notz, Alex (Laura) Notz, Malorie (James) Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Hannah (Eric) Hilger, Abby (Josh) Besson, Wyatt, Josey, Landin, Macy, Nevaeh, Evangelenaeh, Kayden, Onyx, Isaac, Levi, Kamin, Brielle, Edison, Brennen, Jarek, Ashlyn, Everly, Taylor, Rylie, Kaelyn; great-great-grandchildren, Owen, Kinslee, Graham; siblings, Jeanette Steeno and Phyllis Regnier; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex; daughter, Elaine Campshure; infant granddaughter; her parents; and siblings, Lois Coopman, John Gagnon, Dorothy Giese, Joyce Maufort, Allen Gagnon, Robert Gagnon, Henry Gagnon, Donald Gagnon and infant brother Roger Gagnon.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30. The Funeral Service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. Entombment will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31. Online condolences can be shared at www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
The family of Helen extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of NEW Perspective Senior Living, Moments Hospice Sydnee and Alyssa, as well as Rev. Steve Fewell, for their sincere and compassionate care provided to Helen and her family. Special gratitude is also extended to Helen's best friend, Judy Lundgren, and all the Vivid ladies at NEW Perspectives.
